OUR OPPORTUNITY

We’re searching for a Construction Site Manager / Construction Superintendent to join our Building Group team. This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your outstanding leadership skills and keen knowledge of ground-up construction to oversee and manage all on-site construction activities while ensuring client projects are executed safely, successfully and in alignment with quality, schedule and financial goals.

Your responsibilities will include:

Maximize site productivity by managing and coordinating the work performance, quality and efficiency of labourers and subcontractors in relation to the sub-contract scope and overall budget

Interpret plans and specifications according to the scope of the project, ensuring compliance with working drawings and specifications

Manage internal labour team and subcontractor activities to ensure adherence to the project construction schedule, scopes of work related to the sub-contract and budget

Liaise effectively and maintain regular communication with all Project Stakeholders including but limited to weekly foreman’s/site meetings, JHSC meetings

Create a safe work environment by implementing strict Health & Safety guidelines on site and ensuring compliance with all related legislation and safe practices

Exercise legal due diligence, including maintenance of a daily job history log, inspecting workmanship to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and identifying resources required to mitigate potential risks and hazards

Oversee project close out activities, including quick resolution of deficiencies and site cleanup

Planning and implementing construction means/methods, schedules, productivity, innovations, site logistics and coordinating with all related stakeholders

Oversee project close-out activities such as final inspections, deficiencies, warranty work and site demobilization

WHAT YOU BRING

6+ years of managing construction project sites in the ICI sector.

Experience managing base build/core & shell/repositioning construction projects, with Mass Timber construction being an asset.

P. Eng., PMP, GSC and/or LEED certifications being assets.

Strong scheduling skills including but not limited to monthly progress schedules, micro schedule/task plans and two-week lookaheads.

Strong leadership skills to effectively hold others accountable for producing quality work

Solid understanding of basic layout principles and geodetic datums including related instruments.

Relationship savvy and interpersonal skills to demand the respect of all stakeholders.

Understanding of applicable health and safety and construction-related legislation.

Exceptional time management to prioritize activities and allocate resources effectively.

Commitment to recognizing and mitigating risks.

Strong negotiation and dispute resolution skills.

High degree of integrity, honesty and ethics.

Computer proficiency in MS Project, Excel and Outlook.

A valid class G Driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle required for project travel.

Office location is 108 Vine Avenue, Toronto .

Exposure to construction work site environment in all seasons across the GTA.
