The University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI) is seeking a dynamic and visionary leader for the position of President and Vice-Chancellor. The successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to transform this post-secondary institution and drive its positive impact on the province and beyond.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic leadership and direction to the University in achieving its goals and objectives
Ensure the effective operation of all aspects of the University, including academic and administrative functions
Represent the University to external stakeholders, including government, industry, and community groups
Build and maintain positive relationships with faculty, staff, students, alumni, and the community
Provide oversight for the financial management of the University, including developing and monitoring budgets
Lead fundraising efforts to ensure the financial sustainability of the University
Qualifications:
A PhD or other advanced degree from a recognized post-secondary institution
A minimum of ten years of senior leadership experience in a complex organization, preferably in a post-secondary institution
A record of successful strategic planning and implementation
A strong commitment to academic excellence and innovation
An ability to build and maintain positive relationships with diverse stakeholder groups
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
A proven track record in fundraising and financial management
