In addition, Saltworks has carved out a leadership position in the exciting field of lithium refining.

We have a rare opportunity for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join the executive team of one of Canada’s leading clean technology companies. As Saltworks’ CFO, you will be at the helm of our financial strategy and implementation. In addition, you will lead our accounting, reporting, and financial management functions. To thrive in this role, you must have deep finance and accounting experience, be a leader with an entrepreneurial spirit, and possess excellent communication and analysis skills. The company is in excellent financial health and has not had a CFO position in the past. Saltworks is a privately held company with a cohesive management team, shareholder base, and Board of Directors.

Key Responsibilities: Work closely with the CEO, COO, Controller, and VP Corporate on strategies that continuously improve profitability, efficiency, and growth.

Drive and lead all financial reporting functions.

Optimize investments, resource allocation, cash flow, working capital, tax, foreign exchange hedging, and other financial activities.

Stay informed about and implement best practices for financial controls, governance, structure, planning, and reporting.

Manage relationships with investors, financial institutions, external auditors and accounting/legal service providers, and government organizations and tax authorities.

Lead implementation and continuous improvement of software and systems for financial reporting and modeling, transaction processing, ERP integration, and functions that support other business units.

Support business development activities including project financing exploration and the financial aspects of contract negotiations.

Mentor, coach, and enable professional development of the finance team and project accounting teams.

Qualifications: Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.

Bachelor's degree in business, commerce, finance, or a related field; MBA preferred.

Minimum 5 years experience in a senior finance role with direct reports.

Experience with the technology tax, non-dilutive funding, and shareholder reporting.

Track record of success in developing and executing strategic financial plans.

Experience in investor relations and managing external stakeholders.

Experience in negotiating and closing major financial transactions.

Strong skills in developing and refining business and financial models.

A leader at heart, with a keen interest in fostering your team’s growth.
