Position Overview:
The Chief Operating Officer will play a pivotal role in steering WJS Canada's operational strategies, aligning them with their mission to improve the lives of those they serve. Reporting directly to the CEO, the COO will lead operations across HR, IT, Quality, and Communications departments, ensuring the evolving needs of their clients and communities are met.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with the CEO to develop and implement operational strategies that enhance service delivery.
Process Optimization: Streamline processes for increased productivity and scalability.
Team Leadership: Manage and inspire a diverse team, promoting a culture of innovation and professional growth.
Performance Management: Oversee KPIs and manage resources to maximize efficiency and service quality.
Technology Management: Integrate and optimize technology to support operations.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring organizational stability.
Qualifications:
Industry Experience: Senior leadership experience in social services or related fields, with a track record of managing complex operations and diverse teams.
Operational Management: Extensive experience in implementing operational strategies that achieve business goals.
Strategic Development: Involved in strategic planning processes with skills in assessing operational strategies.
Performance Optimization: Proficient in setting and managing KPIs, with a focus on process improvement and implementing operational best practices.
Resource Management: Experienced in managing budgets and resources effectively, collaborating with financial officers to ensure fiscal responsibility.
Technology Proficiency: Skilled in integrating and managing technology to enhance operational efficiencies and adapt new tech to meet strategic needs.
Leadership and Team Development: Exceptional leadership skills with a proven ability to mentor and develop a diverse team.
Communication Skills: Strong communicator with experience in managing stakeholder relationships and effectively conveying organizational missions and strategies.
Risk Management: Capable of identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks to maintain operational stability and effectiveness.
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, with a preference for an MBA or equivalent experience.

Compensation and Benefits:
The compensation range for this position is $135,000 to $160,000 annually, with the potential for a variable component based on organizational and personal KPIs. This range is based on market location and may vary depending on related background, experience, and competencies.
