Due to an influx of new work, they need a leader type estimator.Your new role Based in Toronto, the job of the Senior Estimator is to develop estimates and budgets for hard bid, design/build and construction management proposals based on construction drawings and specifications and submit proposals on a timely basis. In this job you will participate in the development of estimating models, tools, and best practices, be involved in quantity take offs, sub trade/supplier tender packages and risk assessment, and work with project managers to draft project schedules. The Senior Estimator will participate in contract evaluation and be responsible for preparation of relevant contract documents, as well as review all tender documentation and drawings, be accountable for accuracy and timeliness of tender submissions, coordinate and/or attend pre-bid meetings and reviews and approves all bid packages before submission to client.What you'll need to succeed To qualify for the Senior Estimator job, you must possess a minimum of 5 years of construction estimating experience within the Toronto construction market. You will have a solid relationship with local trades, sub trades and consultants. To be effective you will have an extensive knowledge of a variety of estimating methods and techniques. You should have a strong understanding of Canadian construction contracts and scheduling and all phases of a construction project. This includes contract administration, procurement, material control, economics, accounting, labor laws and have a working knowledge of Ontario laws and building codes.
