Our client is a bold innovator! Demonstrating excellence in World Class Manufacturing, they are seeking a Production Supervisor for their highly automated facility in Concord, ON. This role will oversee the coordination, scheduling and motivation of the production shift to achieve targets and quality standards. The ideal candidate knows how to inspire their team to work together, seek out new improvements, and deliver consistent results.

The Role: Assist in the implementation of any changes in current production processes or any new projects pertaining to production.

Promote a good work environment and respect based on the values of the organization.

Interact with all departments to ensure optimum production efficiency.

Apply knowledge of assembly process, tools, equipment, products, and production methods to execute production requirements.

Constantly apply methods to maximize the effectiveness of the production team through team building, positive reinforcement, consistent communication, team involvement, feedback, etc.

Ensure fair, honest and consistent feedback to production employees for the purpose of positive reinforcement, documentation and two way communication.

Complete daily safety, quality and process audits

Apply methods and processes to reach quality defect goals within the company and customer standards.

Support and lead Continuous Improvement activities through reducing inefficiencies and identifying cost savings opportunities throughout the organization.

Ensure competent work force through timely completion of training & documentation for all direct reports.

Responsible for time and attendance of all employees on shift.

Responsible for the safety and well being of all personnel on shift and ensuring that all work is performed in a safe manner in accordance with all Health & Safety Regulations.

Lead daily production meetings and update staff on production demands, quality statistics and safety concerns.

Fulfill all Health and Safety & Environmental responsibilities as identified in the Canadian HSE

Management Standards, OHSAS 18001, and ISO 14001 Management Systems.

The Ideal Candidate: 7+ years manufacturing operations experience, with Automotive industry experience preferred

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or equivalent industry related experience is an asset

Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in production is required, with proven abilities to motivate, train, appraise and other related supervisory skills

Knowledge and experience with production and manufacturing process improvement techniques and methodologies

LEAN manufacturing and/or production process experience is an asset

Superior motivational skills and the ability to train, and drive initiatives to the production team

Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with a sense of urgency and personal accountability

Mechanical aptitude as well as basic computer knowledge (Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook) would be an asset

A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid conflict resolution, exceptionally demonstrated interpersonal and people management abilities

Demonstrated awareness and role modeling of occupational health and safety standards.

Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with corporate departments and stakeholders

Ability to work overtime as necessary
