Responsibilities

Leading projects that involve large and small-scale process, workflow and system improvements, with a focus on the design, development and implementation of innovative human-centered design practices to guide the design and improvement of programs, policies and services

Utilize agile and iterative user-centred design processes to ensure stakeholders are satisfied before committing to a solution

Seamlessly integrating with client teams and the development of tailored approaches to project delivery to ensure the engagement outcomes are delivered in an non-disruptive manner

Employ innovative new methods and approaches to uncover rich citizen insights

Use insights to develop strategic strategies for public sector transformation

Design, manage, and execute projects using a variety of qualitative research methodologies

Contribute to multi-disciplinary project teams in the role ofDesigner and Consultant

Champion and reinforce the value of citizen-led approaches and design thinking

Accountability for managing project budgets to ensure profitability of engagements

Support the growth of our design practice internally and externally

Leading business development activities such as researching, developing and pursuing new opportunities, proposal preparation, executive presentations, and relationship building with prospective buyers and influencers

Qualifications

Candidates should meet the following criteria:

Experience and passion for solving complex problems in the public and social sectors

Experience identifying user needs, business needs and technology opportunities to deliver service outcomes

Formal education in design, business, public administration, engineering, or IT

Proven experience being accountable for all sizes of technology delivery challenges

Able to and clearly communicate technical design in conversation, documentation and presentations

Knowledge and a good awareness of emerging technology trends and innovation

Responsive to changes in technology and can adapt their approach accordingly

Demonstrable passion and expertise in design thinking methodologies

Interest in designing applications, experiences, websites, products and services that balance user needs, business objectives and technological constraints

Previous experience in project settings, in a professional services environment

Possess the ability to remain flexible concerning approaches to delivering client solutions

Knowledge and experience using rapid prototyping tools such as Sketch, Invision, etc.

Visual design skills, including using a diverse set of software such as Adobe CS, Sketch, and OmniGraffle, would be an asset
