ABOUT THE ROLE:

Health Standards Organization (HSO) is searching for a Finance professional and leader who shares our passion for achieving quality health services for all. Reporting to the Chief Financial and Risk Officer (CFO), the Director, Finance is a strong leader who provides direction and management of HSO’s financial and business affairs, overseeing all financial planning and business support functions including budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, business unit support and all Management reporting.

A skilled communicator, you engender confidence, credibility and build effective relationships at any level both internally and externally. HSO seeks to benefit from your forward thinking, poise, political acuity, and collaborative nature. You maintain the highest levels of honesty, integrity, and discretion in all your work. As a member of the Enterprise leadership team, you are a proven leader who enjoys overseeing, guiding, and developing a small and highly effective team, you bring a track record of success in facilitating optimization and change through effective teamwork and decision making. Your advanced analytical abilities will enable you to share insights from financial analysis with the CFO, Enterprise Leadership and Board of Directors.

Main Responsibilities:

Lead the financial planning and analysis function as a close business partner to the CFO and Enterprise leaders.

Monitor business performance, establish corrective measures as needed, and prepare detailed reports for the CFO, Enterprise Leaders, and Board of Directors.

Take ownership for all functions related to cash management, investments, insurance, taxation, and financial reporting.

Oversee the day-to-day reporting, forecasting, variance analysis and internal-control activities of the organization.

Analyze internal operations and identify areas for cost reduction and process enhancement.

Lead the finance team and oversee financial IT systems, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory entities.

Develop corporate policies and procedures as required.

Acts as a key advisor to the CFO, you assist the CFO and Enterprise leadership in strategy development and preparation of budget guidelines.

Coach, train and assist in the development of team budgets. Review departmental forecasts and budget submissions to ensure quality control; consolidate team budgets and provide summaries for the Enterprise Leadership.

Adaptable; flexible team player that can wear several hats and support team as needed.

Represent the CFO as required.

Must Have Qualifications:

University Degree in Accounting, Business, or related field

Completion of a professional accounting designation, CPA, CGA, CMA, etc.

7+ years of accounting / finance related experience.

Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to manage and develop teams. Ability to mentor, teach and train.

Advanced accounting and reporting software knowledge. i.e. MS Dynamics GP, Cube, CRM, Sage 300 AccPac,; MS Office (Excel, Powerpoint and Word).

Desired Qualifications:

Have experience in an international organization.

Have experience in the health care industry.
