Director of Quality

Overall Responsibilities

Reporting to the Vice President of Quality, the Director of Quality will provide leadership and strategic direction for the Quality Units at various Jamieson Wellness business divisions (locations – Rhodes, INTL, Scarborough & warehouse locations). The role will maintain a corporate quality standard to ensure safe, effective, and high-quality products are available for consumer use. Establish and support systems to ensure quality manufacturing of products as defined by Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Specific Key Responsibilities & Duties

Unify cross site processes with a strategic “One Quality” approach.

Provide corporate strategic direction to Jamieson Quality Assurance Departments through the site Quality Managers / Leaders.

Ensure core Quality processes are optimized to support quarterly, and annual financial business targets.

Provide guidance for Quality leaders to ensure materials and products are available within established targets to support manufacturing, packaging, and shipping schedules.

Provide guidance and direction for Quality leaders to support timely processing of out of specification, complaint, and deviation investigations to meet established target timeframes.

Seek out and develop system improvement opportunities to streamline quality process while not compromising our quality systems.

Focus on providing a high level of service for internal Operations and Supply Chain customers while keeping our promises to consumers.

Provide oversight of key Quality performance metrics and collaborate with functional leaders to align on action plans to mitigate potential risks.

Coordinate and participate in cross-functional teams to develop project and partnership strategies with all stakeholders.

Act as a technical quality representative for Jamieson Wellness in front of customers, business partners, academic forums, media, and regulatory agencies.

Establish and support the budgetary parameters required to maintain Jamieson Wellness’s corporate Quality culture.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Requirements

Minimum of Bachelor of Science Degree in related field from an accredited post-secondary institution.

Minimum 5 years in leadership and management role with proven track record of being a solutions-based thinker with a history of implementing creative solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Minimum 10 years of progressive QA, QC, Compliance, Validation and GMP experience in a pharmaceutical, health products or food/beverage manufacturing environment

Proven track record of being a solutions-based thinker with a history of implementing creative solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing operations and GMP.

Knowledge of pharmaceutical, food, dietary supplements, and natural health product regulations.

Superior communication and management skills.

Commitment to continuous professional development.

Self-starter and critical thinker.

Excellent leadership, problem solving and decision-making skills.

Proficient with computers.

Team oriented focus and coaching management style an asset

High work ethic standards a must

Ability to travel to other sites as required.
