Position: Senior Accounting Analyst
Reports to: Director of Finance
Division: Corporate - Finance
ROLE OVERVIEW : The Senior Accounting Analyst is responsible for ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting of FGI operations. This position involves analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and providing insight that contributes to strategic decision-making.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES :
Financial Analysis
• Conduct in depth analysis of financial statements, identifying trends, variances and areas for improvement
• Assist with the development of financial models to support forecasting and budgeting processes
• Assist with the development of financial reporting using Business Analytics tools
• Prepare and present financial reports for management, highlighting key performance indicators and financial metrics
• Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies to maintain the integrity of financial data
• Follow internal controls to ensure inventory costs are accurate
• Collaborate with other departments to obtain necessary information and support decision-making
Process Improvement
• Identify opportunities for policy and process improvements as well as efficiency enhancements in financial procedures
• Implement best practices to streamline accounting processes
• Provide recommendations to members of the finance team and/or others in the company to implement and track margin improvement initiatives
Software Proficiency
• Utilize accounting software and ERP systems to perform daily tasks efficiently
• Stay updated on technological advancements in accounting and financial software
• Ad hoc finance and operations projects as required by the Director of Finance
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
• A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
• CPA or CPA candidate
• Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting/finance with focus on financial analysis roles required
• Experience with ERP systems
• Experience with an ERP integration/installation
• Working knowledge of various inventory costing methods
• Advanced level analytical and problem-solving skills
• Advanced interpersonal skills and communication skills (including written and verbal)
• Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to manage and organize multiple work activities and inputs in order to meet established deadlines
• Ability to work productively in a fast paced, continuous learning, team oriented environment whether working independently or collaboratively
