Director, Product Design (B2B)

Montreal, QC, Canada

$ 200.000 - 250.000

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by

Are you actively looking for a new opportunity? Or just checking the market? Well… you might just be in the right place!

We’re looking for a Director, Product Design to join our team in North America . As a Director of Product Design, you will be tasked to ensure the NuOrder (B2B) product design team delivers user experiences that businesses will find useful and love to use. You will be impacting products that you can experience in the real world, helping merchants build their business and succeed. This role will be responsible for the collective performance of their team. You will set the delivery expectations of the team, oversee the completion of projects, establish processes to improve efficiency, nurture key relationships within the company and provide mentorship and career growth opportunities.

What you’ll be doing:

Lead a team of designers across geographies (NoAM), setting clear goals, managing workload and allocating designers accordingly, ensuring deadlines are met and setting team members up for overall success.

Empowering designers on highly autonomous teams (squads) to collaborate through synchronous and asynchronous methods.

Guide teams in the practice of turning nebulous concepts to specific ideas into useful, delightful product features.

Draw insights from user research and know how to turn those insights into tangible solutions.

Interacting as an equal party to senior leaders in Product and Engineering to help us build products that customers love (and will pay for)

Increasing our focus on a culture of innovation on the Design team and shining a light on great ideas, even if they aren’t our own.

Informing the retail Design system for B2B needs and ensuring its growth and maintenance in partnership with Engineering.

Ensure the team has everything they need to work effectively, including tools, training, and process documentation. Coordinates learning sessions, team training, cross-vertical type and cross-office sharing, and information sharing.

Developed trust across the entire organization, and can leverage relationships in the industry to benefit the team. Builds and connects cross-functional teams.

Advocates for the design team within the organization.

What you need to bring:

At least 10 years of practical, in-house product and/or consumer facing UX /UI and visual design experience with a focus on complex flows and use cases

Minimum 3 years of industry experience in a people management role on a Design team. Enterprise experience preferred.

An acute self-awareness and deep empathy - for both the customer and your team’s goals.

A tenured, evolutionary perspective on technology, product, and design practices

Applied experience with service design practices and a practice of constantly evolving your design process.

An appetite (and the skill) for working across all digital and physical manifestations of what we design.

A passion for mentoring executives, product managers, and engineers to deliver user-centered solutions.

Excellent communication and data visualization skills. You can bring internal stakeholders on your design journey and support your decisions with focus and brevity.

A deep curiosity and ability to consider product strategy and vision. You don’t just care about “how it looks,” or “what we should design,” but “why are we designing this at all?”

Expertise in Figma, understanding of Storybook.

We know that people are more than what’s on their CV. If you’re unsure that you have the right profile for the role... hit the ‘Apply’ button and give it a try!
