Who we need

Join us to shape the security for Canada’s leading loyalty program. This highly visible role will impact the organization as we go through an exciting period of transformative growth.

Reporting to the Executive Director, PMO, we are hiring a Director, IT Security. You will be a crucial player at the decision-making level and executing the roadmap. You will go beyond strategy and best practices to design and implement frameworks. As a people leader, you will manage related vendors and contracts, overseeing collaborative and siloed efforts.

Collaborating with the Executive Director and peers, you will be part of an elite team ensuring the security and integrity of Scene+ third-party provided systems, ultimately supporting millions of members. Upcoming project work includes, but is not limited to managing the implementation of Single Sign On (SSO), Privileged Access Management (PAM), Fraud Management Tools, Identity Access Management (IAM), and a Cloud protection program.

If you want to be the first person in a role expanding upon and executing a security and fraud operations roadmap, this is it.

What's in it for you:

Ownership. We are a data science-driven company, and our membership is growing exponentially. We are adaptable, collaborative, and fast-paced. You are a senior leader in Cloud Security Engineering, Retail Digital Security or Omni Channel Operations. You have extensive experience designing, leading, and executing a security strategy across multiple frameworks and channels in partnership with cross-functional teams and external partners. You are looking for an opportunity with national exposure where you can influence and implement best-in-class cloud security and fraud frameworks for a growing membership base of over 15 million.

Future forward impact. You will be part of a future-forward team that values authenticity and invites fresh perspectives. As the accountable leader, you will track all critical deliverables at different stages and coordinate the work to meet every milestone and mitigate risk. Both a thought leader as well as a person with the drive to get things done, you will build out our cloud security and strategic omni channel process plans for the next 1-3 years.

Anticipation. With giants in banking, grocery, and entertainment as our owners and partners across various categories like travel, shopping, and dining, this is an opportunity to gain exposure across a wide range of sectors. With over 30% of our team promoted within the last year, we have a proven history of supporting the growth of our people. Whether you want to increase your influence with us directly or with a parent company, there is always something to look forward to as we continue to transform and grow. Externally, this is a direct path to executive leadership and CISO role.

As our new Director of IT Security, you will:

Own and expand upon the roadmap. You will focus on the roadmap for data security, cloud security, fraud management, governance, and risk management, and bridging the gap between our frameworks from contact centers, to retail, to our website and mobile applications. You will bring innovation and take the lead in developing a security plan beyond our milestones for 2024.

Collaborate internally. You will work closely with your peers to execute on the roadmap. In addition, you will communicate with internal leadership and technical teams. At Scene+, internal stakeholders include teams within Scene+ as well as within our Owners' infrastructure.

Design and operationalize. You will implement playbooks to mitigate security and fraud alerting from our data lake and other cloud built-in tools, to improve detection efficiency and investigations. You will enhance the security posture by identifying vulnerabilities and misconfigured points redemption processes, recommending changes to improve the performance, usability, and value of our analysis tools.

Lead. You will take ownership and use your knowledge, the latest tools, and industry best practices to solve and prevent security and fraud risk related to data, retail, Cloud, digital access and security requirements. You will work in close partnership with our third-party service providers, nurturing trust with internal and external stakeholders, including the Contact Centres, partner Security and loss prevention teams from our Owners, providing technical guidance and direct support.

Manage projects. You will drive the end-to-end project management of implementation activities, from discovery to go-live. You will define goals and track progress, manage internal, vendor, and contractor resource allocation and daily work, scope creep, change management and communications, and track progress toward completing deliverables on time.

Champion. You will advocate for security solutions, standards, and best practices. You will identify, evaluate and document security risks and ensure appropriate, accurate, and supported risk acceptance and resolutions are implemented. You will promote knowledge sharing and awareness; and consolidate and interpret centralized analyses and reporting for a variety of stakeholders.

You bring:

The drive. You are passionate about the immediate and broader impact highly secure environments have on Member experience and organizational success. You are curious with a continuous improvement mindset. You consistently approach your work by asking, "What's in it for our Members? How can we make this a more secure, fulfilling and engaging environment?".

The experience. You have practical and progressive growth of Security and Fraud Engineering and application security frameworks and tools, including cloud protection programs, database security and fraud monitoring. You have built out and executed a security roadmap, incorporating information security planning, fraud management, regulatory compliance, digital scanning, and security. You have exposure to vendor POS systems and contract management, including assessments for vendors and service providers. Ideally, you have worked at a loyalty/membership platform organization or in retail technology.

The technical expertise. You have in-depth knowledge of Cloud (AWS, Salesforce, Azure), data, web, mobile application security, and retail fraud management best practices. With proven success using security metrics and risk management to guide access management, governance, and risk mitigation.

The project management. You have experience working on multiple simultaneous projects of moderate to high complexity. You can confidently lead the technical design, planning, execution, and implementation of Cloud, data, fraud monitoring and digital security requirements. You have excellent organizational skills in a demanding, multi-system environment.

The interpersonal skills. You can build and nurture internal and external relationships across any level of an organization. You can gain trust and influence decisions to operate an organization-wide security program effectively. You have professional verbal, written, and presentation skills and can translate complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience, demonstrating business value and impact.

Why work for Scene+? The best of all worlds. We offer:

Perks. Enjoy a competitive salary and benefits package, performance-based bonuses, and extra rewards from our owners, including discounted rates on mortgages, banking, movies, and groceries.

Transparency. Our strategic focus comes from our owners, along with funding and infrastructure support. The creative approach and direction is Scene’s to run with.

Warmth. We’re nurturing an authentic culture of relationship building, knowledge sharing, and creativity. As we continue to grow and work together, everyone is invited to share ideas for fun with the team.

The future. We are all about living in the moment while looking towards the future. Because to us, the only thing more exciting than today is tomorrow.
