Travel Lead

Sioux Lookout, ON, Canada

Job Summary:

The Travel Lead will provide supervision and direction to the travel department. The Travel Lead will analyze and research travel options to ensure that SLFNHA receives the best travel arrangements for each department. The Travel Lead will assist with delivering customized business travel solutions that are economical and promote fiscal responsibility.

Qualifications:

Persons of First Nations ancestry will be given preference (OHRC, Part II, Special Employment).

Ability to communicate in one of the First Nations dialects in the Sioux Lookout Zone is an asset.

Oversee to ensure itineraries are based upon organizational requests with a focus on designing and delivering customized business travel for departments.

Monitor all travel requests from staff to ensure accuracy.

Assist with arranging accommodations, airline or car rental bookings and other travel related services for staff and Board Members.

Liaise within the organization to best determine economical modes of transportation, travel dates, financial considerations, and accommodations required.

Build continuing relationships with organizational contacts to provide superior customer service.

Calculate costs associated with travel, process necessary refunds and attend to other financial transactions.

Remain educated on current airline rules and regulations and how they may affect travel plans.

Book reservations for air travel, hotel, and car rentals.

Research continuously on a wide variety of travel and travel operations in an effort to provide superior quality to customers.

Create and maintain working relationships with all vendors used for travel purposes, this includes but is not limited to airlines, hotels and car rental companies.

Ability to complete the duties of the position on a regular basis.

Other duties shall be assigned as required.
