This position has dual reporting lines and is a strategic thought partner to the President and the SVP of Finance. You will work closely with all levels of management (and particularly with the President of the company) and demonstrate business acumen in analysis as well as effectively communicating the impact, alternatives, and recommendations from your analysis.You will support Ontario’s leadership by helping them understand and find ways to improve financial results year-over-year. The scope of this role goes beyond just financial planning & analysis, budget and forecast and financial accounting & report, you will be part of the development of targets, metrics, controls, and improvement recommendations. Having an inquisitive nature, you will ask insightful questions with a goal to bring excellence to all tasks.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain policies in order to comply with applicable laws, rules and regulations, accounting standard and Sonepar policies.Review consistency and correctness of monthly financial reporting, ensure Sonepar rules and GAAP are respected and that the accounts reflect a fair and true view of the company economic situation. Collaborate and maintain a strong relationship with Shared Services and the Corporate Finance team including Tax, Treasury, Risk Management, and M&A.Manage internal and external audits.Declare proactively any fraud suspected or alleged to Legal Department and Internal Control department; Participate in the creation and implementation of action plans and recommendations made by internal or external auditors or by Sonepar Internal Control team in a timely manner.Continuous financial review to control and monitor the business and improve its performance.Perform data, market, industry, customer, and project analysis to proactively identify both new opportunities and potential risks to future business performance and support business decision making.Design and implement robust common automated detailed transversal indicators and reporting to monitor P&L business evolution leveraging Power BI and in collaboration with System & Reporting team and Corporate FP&A.Provide visibility, strategic insight, and recommendations to the business on its financial performance, focusing on key drivers including models, trends, and analytical needs.Develop a culture of accountability and assist the President in setting appropriate bonus related financial targets for profitable growth and in monitoring their achievements.Lead local management and communication with Sonepar on facility lease portfolios.Prepare post CAPEX investment return analysis to compare them to Investment case and correct when possible.Lead the financial planning, forecasting, budget, and analysis process in the opco (including strategic plan) and develop associated tools through effective collaborations with other functions.Ensure that operations have a robust and complete inventory monitoring and control process, analyze physical vs perpetual discrepancies, and ensure remediation's action plans are implemented. Monitor inventory evolution and work with purchasing and supply chain to identify and forecast unproductive or excess inventory and to reduce it.Lead credit management team in the best way to balance risk management and sales growth and to collect the receivables in due time.Ensure a reliable model and framework is implemented in determining customer credit limit risks and that a credit committee is setup to ensure smooth collaboration between finance and sales and a documented follow-up of credit limits evolutions and risk management.In relation with Corporate team make credit management team and processes more effective and more efficient by designing a best of class organization and implementing and leveraging new technologies.Enhance credit management effectiveness to reduce overdue and at the same time assist sales department to accelerate profitable growth.Other duties as assigned.Desired Skills And Experience10+ years of financial management, with experience in distribution, wholesale industry preferred.Exposure to credit management and inventory control is required.Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products and ERP systems. Experience with SX ERP a plus.Ability to travel locally and nationally when required.Ability to operate with complete integrity, honesty, and confidentiality.Ability to drive for results, work hard, prioritize, multi-task, be efficient, hands on, and extremely organized.Ability to build a customer centric organization whether focusing on internal or external customers.Inspire through excellent presentation and communication skills.Can take perceived complex issues and boil them down into concise, easy to understand analysis to support business decisions.A team player with the confidence and consultative skills to influence the business.Excellent quantitative, financial, and analytical skills as well as the ability to see the complete picture.
