Regulatory Specialist

(2-year term)

Yellowknife, Northwest Territories

The Mackenzie Valley Land and Water Board is part of the one of Canada’s most progressive resource co-management regimes. Our job is to regulate and manage the use of land and water in the Northwest Territories using fair, inclusive, and transparent processes.

Job description

As a Regulatory Specialist, you will:

• process Water Licence and Land Use Permit applications made to the Board

• liaise with proponents, government, industry, First Nations, and stakeholders

• manage the regulatory process for Permits and Licences once issued

• prepare and present recommendations to the Board

Compensation

• salary ranges from $101,281 to $129,106

• northern living allowance of up to $26,000 per year

• generous benefits and vacation allowances

Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with these qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or equivalent

• knowledge of northern Indigenous culture and way of life

• experience in northern regulatory environment
